"Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center" (hereinafter referred to as the "Promotion Center") is a function entity under Wuhan Engineering Design Industry Alliance of China and is classified as a service-oriented social association of "private non-enterprise" type, including 46 members in total. There are many large-scale, famous design enterprises, including 11 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, more than 39 survey and design masters of China, over 10,000 senior technical personnel and 10,413 registered engineers and covering various kinds of professional fields, e.g. metallurgy, chemical engineering, railway, electric power, bridge, water conservancy, traffic and architectural design as well as special engineering design.

Since its founding, the Promotion Center, characterized by engineering design, integrates the "people-oriented" design creativity into the major strategy planning of urban construction and blend the cultural creativity reflecting humanity and blessing in the ideas of development and value orientation in a concentrated, dedicated, persistent and sincere manner, with the aim to comprehensively advance the construction of city of design, use the force of design to benefit the society and  the people's livelihood and boost the progress of industry based on the working principle of UNESCO that governments and enterprises work together to promote the development of the design industry, and better serve the members of the alliance.

The sustainable development is the target of Wuhan, as the central city in central China, and both of the rapid growth of the design creativity industry and the strong power of design education of Wuhan provide powerful support for the development of urban transformation.
