2016 China Wuhan Internet+ Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

On September 7th, 2016, the 2016 China Wuhan Internet+ Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship—Kevin Kelly Dialog “City of University” Event was held in the stadium of Wuhan University of Technology.

Strongly supported by the Hongshan District Government of Wuhan and sponsored by CEC Optics Valley, the event gathered over a thousand excellent business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and various persons in the innovation industry, as well as teachers and students from universities and colleges. A fascinating tour of science, technology and culture unfolded on the campus of academic learnings.

President Huang Liping of CEC Optics Valley delivered a passionate speech, in which he said that as China’s leading industrial park operator CEC Optics Valley provided services to over 3000 clients including enterprises and various technical innovation institutes. It had always wanted to grow together with startups showing growth potential, and it was why it spared no effort in arranging Kevin Kelly’s Wuhan visit this time.

Being the special guest of the event, Mr. Kevin Kelly was the founding editor of Wired magazine, and editor/publisher of the Whole Earth Review. His books such as Out of Control and The Inevitable have been hailed as “bible in the scientific and technological circles” for revealing the core connotation concerning science and technology, society, and economy. Moreover, he himself has been called “the greatest prophet of the century” for his repeatedly accurate predictions regarding major scientific, technological and business trends. This was his first visit to central China, where he discussed science, technology and the future with many who were ambitious and determined.

During the event, Kevin Kelly expounded on various inevitable technological trends such as tracking, flow, sharing, cooperation, and filtering which were to come in the next 30 years. It was tremendously informative and full of brilliant highlights. The audience frequently broke into applause for time and again being inspired and refreshed.
