In 2011, the Wuhan City made a major decision to "comprehensively promote the overall relocation and transformation of Hanzheng Block Market". In 2012, the Leading Group Office for the Development and Construction of the Cultural Tourism Business District in Hanzheng Street Block was established to organize relevant research work. The Municipal Land Planning Bureau has organized and completed a number of preliminary studies and preparation work for urban design.

       In December 4, 2013, the "Implementation Planning for the Central Service Area of Hanzheng Street" was approved in principle by the Standing Committee of the Wuhan Municipal Planning Commission, based on which a number of system plannings such as regulatory planning, reforming planning of the Hanzheng Old Street, special planning of municipal traffic and underground space planning are carried out.
