Wuhan Conservatory of Music “Music Creation • Hubei Collaborative Innovation Center" held a grand opening ceremony at the conference room on the 6 floor of the administration building of Wuhan Conservatory of Music in the morning of June 29, 2013. This is one of the first projects approved for cultivation and construction in "2011 Plan" of Hubei Province. Xu Mengdong (Vice President of Shanghai Musician Association and Executive Vice-President of Shanghai Conservatory of Music), Gao Weijie (Former Director of Composition Department of China Conservatory of Music and Librarian), Fang Shi (Vice Chairman of Hubei Provincial Association for Musicians and National First-class Composer), and Peng Zhimin (Chairman of Hubei Provincial Association for Musicians and President of Wuhan Conservatory of Music) jointly inaugurated the center. Zhao Zegang (Director of Department of Science and Technology, Hubei Provincial Department of Education), Yang Feng, Dai Dezhu, Lei Yong, Gao Yan, Liu Yongping and Tan Yong (Leaders of Wuhan Conservatory of Music), Collaborative Innovation Academic Committee members and the heads and teachers of relevant departments of the college participated in the opening ceremony.

Wuhan Conservatory of Music “Music Creation • Hubei Collaborative Innovation Center" actively cooperates with well-known sister colleges and composers and artists, closely surrounding the major needs for cultural construction and economic and social development of Hubei Province, with music creation as the leading, and trinity innovation ability improvement of talent training, discipline construction and scientific research as the core. It gives full play to the advantages in talent gathering by strengthening the multi-mode of cooperation dominated by "interschool" and "school governance", so as to promote innovation in collaboration, and seek innovation in creation as well as gather positive energy and create good voice together. It strives to create art boutiques "rocking the world, the Yangtze River and Hubei", to jointly build the "spiritual high ground" promoting the development of Hubei and to promote the great development and prosperity of Hubei culture.
