Wuhan Design & Research Institute of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group was founded in 1954. It was directly under the administration of the former Ministry of Coal Industry, and is now affiliated to China Coal & Engineering Group (CCTEG) directly subordinate to the administration of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC)of the State Council, ranking as a national Class-A survey and design institute with profound history.
       At present, it boasts a staff team of 720 members, including 630 technical personnel in various fields, among whom there are national investigation masters, specialists enjoying special allowance from the State Council, and renowned experts. It is home to 80 professor-level engineers, 200 senior engineers and 260 certified engineers such as First-grade Registered Architects, structure engineers, cost engineers, public facility engineers, electrical engineers, mining engineers, mineral processing engineers, mechanical engineers, environmental assessment engineers, road design engineers, surveying engineers, safety engineers and supervision engineers, priding itself on the staff's memberships of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Based on 20 national Class-A qualifications in mining engineering, its business covers a wide range of fields, including mining area, mining shaft and strip mine, coal preparation plant, auxiliary project of coal chemical engineering, mining area maintenance shop, power transmission & transformation and automation engineering, railway, highway, municipal roads and bridges and tunnels, long-distance coal pipeline transportation, water supply and sewage disposal plant, industrial and civil building design and plan, etc. Comprehensive and superior services are available for engineering design, engineering consultation, engineering investigation, engineering general contracting (ECP) and engineering supervision.
