Wuhan Urban Planning Association is a non-profit social organization established with the approval of Wuhan Civil Affairs Bureau on March 28, 2000, and it is under the charge of Wuhan Land Resources and Planning Bureau. The Association establishes 6 professional committees of planning design, planning survey, planning management, transport planning, application of new technology and regulatory supervision, and admits 93 member units for the first time.

Under the leadership and support of Wuhan Land Resources and Planning Bureau, Wuhan Civil Affairs Bureau and other relevant departments of the municipal government, and with the active participation and assistance of member units, the Association will adhere to promote the reform and development of Industry Association, adhere to perform the functions of "servicing, self-disciplining, representing and coordinating", seize the opportunity, make hard working, blaze new trails in a pioneering spirit and look for the truth and be practical, and carry out the work actively.

Purposes of the Association are as follows: to carry out the policies and guidelines of the CPC and Government, to abide by the Constitution and laws, to promote the industry management, to promote innovation in the industry, to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of members, to reflect the desire of members, to enhance lateral ties in the industry, to arouse the enthusiasm of urban planning workers, and to promote the development of urban planning.
